This is a teacher's resource guide to Physical Education. It lists 38 games
that are categorized by age groups. These games focus on achieving growth and
development of children while allowing all students to participate.
I thought this site was important for teachers. It has an extensive list of
common and not so common physical and mental disabilities. This site would
help educators recognize students with special needs. It also has listings of
many links to other websites that offer much more detailed information about
disorders and disease.
This site has hundreds of games. The site can be searched by grade or by
related sports. It also describes the goals of the games. I think there are
a lot of good ideas that can be adapted to fit the special needs of all
students.
HHS supports a number of programs to promote better health for Americans of all ages through physical activity. These programs were created to engage the public and community organizations in taking steps to promote and encourage increased physical activity.
This Web Site provides information that explains benefits of being active, what are the health risks of being inactive, what we do in health promotion with regards to physical activity?
Regular physical activity provides young people with important physical, mental and social health benefits. Regular practice of physical activity helps children and young people to build and maintain healthy bones, muscles and joints, helps control body weight, helps reduce fat and develop efficient function of the heart and lungs. It contributes to the development of movement and co-ordination and helps prevent and control feelings of anxiety and depression.
Physical inactivity is the most common risk factor for heart disease, 7 out of 10 adults in the UK do not take enough regular physical activity. The greatest increase in health benefit comes to inactive people who start to take regular moderate exercise.
One way to measure just how effective various types of activity are is to look at how many calories they burn. The following calculator will give you a rough idea of how many calories you are using. It is based on your weight (the heavier you are, the more calories you burn for any specific activity) and the amount of time you do an activity.

This web site shows you lesson plans, tools and themes for physical education and health. The web site also gives resources for physical education, and health standards.

There is a part in this web site about health and physical education and the goal of it was to strengthen local schools and plan, design, and evaluate health and physical education in grades K-12.
